Sportware has been designed to provide the requirements of the Sports Wagering Industry and meets the stringent requirements of the South African Gaming Authorities. The Application meets the needs of a single user, single branch multi-user environment and those of a large multi-branch environment. Sportware has been developed in direct consultation with bookmakers and therefore caters specifically for the needs of the Sports Wagering industry of South Africa.

Sportware Software License Range

Sportware is licensed to accommodate four different types of Bookmakers:

  1. Bookmaker offering Field sheet bets for Account customers.
  2. Bookmaker offering Field sheet bets for Cash & Account customers.
  3. Bookmaker offering Field sheet & Open bets for Account customers.
  4. Bookmaker offering Field sheet & Open bets for Cash & Account customers.

Requirements:

  • On course or Small user Bookmaker- Sportware can run on a laptop or desktop Pc with Windows Xp Professional as the operating system. The laptop or PC is thus utilized as a server and a workstation.

  • Workstation operating system: Windows XP Professional (recommended)

  • Minimum operating system for single branch server to accommodate one or multiple users, recommended not more than 20 users, can be Windows XP Professional.

  • Bookmakers with more than 20 users we advice a dedicated server running Windows 2003 Server Standard operating systems. Only the standard 5 CAL license package is required and no further CALS required irrelevant of the amount of users, provided hardware requirements are not exceeded.

  • Sportware utilizes a MySQL database, which is licensed with a once off license fee. MySQL does not charge per user connected. No need to pay expensive per user license fees.

  • Adding additional users to the server will not require additional Microsoft license fees however there is a once off Sportware surcharge.

  • In addition, because Sportware also makes use of Client Server Architecture, there is no need for additional software (e.g. Terminal services) or additional costly licensing for the connection of remote users to a centralised server.
